Finishing Touches: Styled Shoot with Nikki Santerre

Good Morning Y'all!

I am so fortunate to have found a friend in Nikki Maxey about 14  years ago.  She was my friend long before she became Nikki Santerre, Photographer Extraordinaire.   I had dinner with Nikki last night to celebrate my launch and she reminded me of this.  We were friends long before we were creative professionals together.  I can go to her for more than a professional opinion, I can go to her for a friend opinion.

In November, we got together as creative professionals and tried to create something beautiful;  a styled bridal shoot.  My very first styled shoot at that.  Nikki truly blessed me with her friendship throughout the entire process.  I was nervous and without a clue as to how to go about putting together all of the pieces needed to get my thoughts and ideas across.  She really held my hand and let me know that I would survive the experience and the results would be beautiful.  She was right.

My initial thoughts were to do a Christmas themed shoot using green instead of the typical red.  After hearing advice from a panel of professional bloggers, I chose to broaden the idea and make it just a winter wedding.  So with thoughts of green and gold swirling around in my head, I went to work.  Lots of candles, lots of green, touches of gold.  I came with what I thought were all of the supplies that I would need.  Looking around the venue, ideas popped into my head and I got to work.  I had brought all of the man made materials but the natural materials that were just laying around were too good to pass up. I love the little tiny pine cones that I was able to find; ADORABLE!  Fridays are all about the finishing touches, and I think that the last minute finishing touches were well worth it and created some of the most beautiful images that we were able to get.  You may have seen some of these images grace the pages of this website, but I've also shared a few more of my favorites.
