FIRST SNOW EXCITEMENT
I waited until now to write today's post. I bet that you can guess why! It is finally snowing here in the RVA and more importantly its sticking, its cold, and its not supposed to stop for a really long time!!! With the hopeful promise that I won't have to go to school for hopefully a couple of days, at least one, you will get to see the Domesticated Diva Amanda! Get excited!!! I'm going to be cleaning the house, baking homemade bread, dinner every night, etc. Matt loves when I have a snow day because I get to be a housewife!
Two of my several favorite things about snow are happening today! One is already checked off my list.. I turned on my Christmas lights outside!!! The icicle lights just look so pretty in the snow. I've been waiting for this moment for about 2 1/2 months!! And amazingly enough all of the lights are working except for a section of the garland that is on our banister. But that's okay, the rest of the house looks so beautiful! Call me crazy but I just love the lights in the snow. It just makes it so magical to me. On top of that, Matt had to work in Harrisonburg today and is on his way back down here. Because of the weather, I don't know when he will be back. We call the Christmas lights a homing beacon. Matt will know how to get home when he sees the lights. It's really silly and childish, I get that, but in order to love doing weddings as much as I do, you have to be somewhat of a dreamer!
The second of my favorite things is of course, when Matt gets home and we have a bit of snow on the ground and it's still coming down, he will take me out back, get down on one knee, and ask me to be his, all over again! I just love it! He will complain about getting his knee cold and wet and I will be so giddy with glee. I just love it. Unfortunately however, that reminds me that I need to go find my wedding rings. I guess they came off in the bed while I was sleeping. I didn't realize it until I was almost at work. Very sad :-(. They will be found though and the three year tradition will be carried on! maybe I will even be able to get him to take a picture with me!
SNOW DAY ESSENTIALS
On the way home from work I got gas in my new car and stopped by the store. We didn't do our usual Sunday evening grocery shopping trip. I was able to get a great parking spot and all of my essentials were right at the very front of the story luckily. They have a smaller cooler at the front with milk so I got a quart of milk (the only size they had and the last one), I got fruity pebbles, peanut butter crunch, and a bottle of Cupcake Moscato. Can you say conflicting items. The first few sound like they are for a child and the last is for an adult. At this point in my life, I guess I am still right smack dab in the middle of the two. I like to have fun but I can still be serious! What are your snow day essentials? Did you already have them or did you have to run out real fast and get them?
